The Internet Protocol Address, shortly known as IP address are assigned to each of the devices which uses internet protocol for communication by connecting to a computer network. How to Log In to 192.168.1.1 Admin

You can easily access or log in to 192.168.1.1 IP Address by simply following the steps given below:

Step 1. Open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 or “http://192.168.1.1” into address bar and press “Enter” key.

Note: In case you are using Linksys router, you must first turn on your router and connect it to your device with an Ethernet cable since Linksys routers don’t provide the feature to be connected wirelessly for security reasons.

Step 2. After typing down 192.168.1.1 in address you get any error, then this is not your router’s IP address you can look at the back of your router to see what is your router’s IP address. Once you know your router’s designated IP address, repeat the “Step 1” given above.

Finding IP address on Mac OS

Finding your router’s IP Address on Mac OS is quite simple, you just have to follow these steps:

Step 1. Click on “Apple Menu” on the desktop, then select “System Preferences”.

Step 2. After that click on “Network” icon.

Step 3. Select your network, after then click on “Advanced Button”.

Step 4. Select “TCP/IP” tab, you will find your router’s IP Address simply listed as “Router”.

Finding IP Address on Linux

Devices using Linux as operating system generally have a separate network icon on desktop notification area.

Step 1. You can simply find your router’s IP address by clicking on “Network” icon and then go to “Connection Information”.

Step 2. You will find your IP address displayed next to “Default Route” of default gateway IP address.

How to Change your Router’s IP Address

Before changing your router’s IP address why and during what scenarios/issues you might need to change your IP address. As we know router and, every device connected to it has their own separate IP address, but one important thing to note is that router uses two IP address one to communicate with device and another one to interface with internet.

Some user changes their IP address to avoid online bans, or to bypass country location restriction or to avoid restrictions posed on some video content. You can change your IP address by following these simple steps:

Step 1. Switch on your router and connect your device to your router.

Step 2. Open web browser and type IP address of your router i.e., 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press “enter” key

Step 3. Type your router’s username and password in their respective bars and then press “Enter or Log In” button.

Step 4. After you have logged in go to Set Up > Network Settings. You will be redirected to new window panel, then click on Router settings, now type in router’s new IP Address and subnet mask and click on Save Settings.

Step 5. Now you might need to disconnect your device from your router and the reconnect it by typing in new IP Address and password.
